Tunes on Tuesday ~ Sting
when you have really fucked things up, then it’s time to make amends
Perhaps this tune will go someway to making up for my really making a mess of things over the last few days.
I hope you like it.
Please listen to the lyrics.

It would be nice to take my friend down to a beach and draw a heart in the sand for her
Songs on Saturday ~ Sting
America only has three cities
New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans
everywhere else is Cleveland
Last night, in the middle of the night, I knew that I had to have this song on my blog today. I have no idea why that is.
Once, I turned down a chance to go to New Orleans, with a very interesting woman.
I have no idea why I didn’t.

Songs on Saturday ~ Sting
a lost man, in a lost world, on an endless quest for faith and truth
This song is for a friend of mine, who oft gives me the faith and strength to carry on when all seems lost. When I’m down and troubled she lends a helping hand, she helps me to get up again, and strive once more to be a really great guy, living a very cool life.
A bit of Shakespeare, some Thomas Malory, and a reference to Alfred, Lord Tennyson in the video accompanying this song. Who knew that Sting was educated and well-read?
King Canute’s real name was Cnut. What a great T-shirt logo, if you were brave enough.
Please listen as you look to see if you have any great literature on your Kindle.

Songs on Saturday ~ Sting
when a man’s in love, nothing else matters
I can sail a yacht, ride a horse, build a car, write poetry with gorgeous calligraphy, and take great photographs ~ but no matter how hard I’ve tried I haven’t always been able to keep the affections of someone I loved.
Trying to be perfect is perhaps the biggest mistake a man can ever make.
Please listen with understanding.

just one of the places we liked to go
An Englishman in New York
if you can make it there, you’ll make it anywhere
Back in the day I spent a lot of time in New York. Why? It’s where the money is.
Some say you haven’t lived until you’ve died in New York. And that somewhere between living and dreaming there lies New York. All I know is that New York may be the city that never sleeps, but it certainly sleeps around.
Please listen with care ~ The Big Apple can be dangerous to the unwary.

Murder of Crows
And the crow called the raven black

And he was far too certain of himself.
Some say that only a geordie boy is a real man. And that whoever wants to relax in the south is a wanker. All I know is that it gets cold in the sunshine here.
