as the sun drifted down in the west

it filled my heart with poignant longing

for natural beauty so heaven blessed

knowing I’d see her again at dawning

a bright aurora blossoming in the east

Goddess, thank you for this beautiful day

and for watching over me through the night

speed my certain footsteps on their way

until evening’s glorious fading light

watch over those for whom I pray

and keep them safe in your loving sight
