Not feeling so good I took myself down to the sea to pray, and as always I was struck my the ever-changing mystic beauty of the shore, the sunrise, and the distant waves combined into one wonderful seascape. The North Sea isn’t the azure sun kissed Mediterranean, and the raucous scream of the gulls isn’t the musical voice of an Aphrodite, and yet after a while just standing there I felt healed. The sea is everything that I would wish to be; beautiful, mysterious, ever changing, wild and free. Given that only a short while ago I suffered a life-threatening traumatic brain injury, I count myself very lucky to be able to even see, let alone appreciate the glory of the world we live in. Perhaps a Goddess watches over me.

Depending on who you are and what you’ve done in life, then ‘higher power’ may be a significant concept for you ~ or not. In any event, I like this Coldplay track. But then, I used to think that I was a very cool guy, living a really great life.

Food on Friday ~ Quick and Easy
my friend cooks with wine, sometimes she even adds it to the food
In an ideal world each of us would have a gorgeous kitchen, a larder full of exactly the right ingredients, and lots of time to create wonderfully, brilliant, healthy and tasty dishes. Mostly the world isn’t like that, and for many of us there are so many other things we need and want to do rather than stand over a hot stove. Particularly when the weather is wonderful ~ or we have to go to work. Or have a long, hot, soak in the tub.
This week we’re concentrating on quicker and easier wonderful, brilliant, healthy, and tasty recipes.
First up this week, from Tieghan Gerard at Half Baked Harvest; 15 Minute Garlic Butter Ramen Noodles. Simple, easy, fast, and looking delicious.

Another noodles dish, this time from Chungah at Damn Delicious; Quick Chicken Ramen Noodle Stir Fry. I like stir fry dishes, my perfect one pan meal every time. This one should be ready in 30 minutes.

Something I must try, from Tiffany at Creme de la Crumb is a Cajun Shrimp and Rice Skillet. This is a one pan dish you should be ale to prepare and cook in just 30 minutes, less if your seasoning is ready mixed.

At this time of year some of you may have peppers growing in your yard. From Jessica Merchant at How Sweet Eats we have these Grilled Marinated Peppers with Burrata and Breadcrumbs. This dish may take a little longer than the others we’re looking at this week, but it’s a very relaxing kind of longer.

Christmas Fun ~ Greg Lake
Santa Claus has the right idea ~ visit people but once a year
When did you stop believing in Father Christmas, when did you realise that Santa Claus might not be real? When did you start thinking, that your parents placed the gifts under the tree?
Part of me still believes in Father Christmas, the small boy, and the grown man who believes that there’s more to this Cosmos than we can ever know. The part of me that believes in my Goddess Aphrodite, and that the sun will rise after every night.
